Product · Room logs and cage wash
The daily round, off the clipboard.
Streamcell runs the daily room log, the temperature and humidity readings and the cage wash checks on forms your own team builds. When a reading is out of range, the log opens a deviation for the right person, and every entry keeps its history for the next inspection.

01Why move the room log off paper?
Why move the room log off paper?
Because the paper log is where problems go quiet until someone retypes them.
Of 12 facilities whose procedures we read, 10 keep the daily room log on paper at the room, and 6 copy part of the round by hand into a second record, such as a census retyped into a spreadsheet. A room log in Streamcell is filled in at the room on a phone, and the manager sees each room's last round the moment it is saved.

02What goes on a vivarium room log?
What goes on a vivarium room log?
Whatever your rooms are checked for. Your team picks the fields.
A room log can hold dates and initials, temperature and humidity readings, checkboxes for food, water and light, dropdowns for the room's status and a place for notes. Start from a PDF of the log you use today and Streamcell drafts it for you to finish. When your checks change, change the form that day.
03What happens when a room reading is out of range?
What happens when a room reading is out of range?
The log opens an environmental deviation, and the next step goes to the person who fixes it.
The deviation moves through Open, With facilities, Back in range, Reviewed and Closed, so the abnormal reading, the response and the prevention stay together on one record. A chart of temperature by room shows the highs and lows over time for your next meeting.
04How do you track cage wash checks?
How do you track cage wash checks?
As a cage wash check record with its own retest step, so a failed check cannot be forgotten.
Facilities verify the cage washer in different ways: we found 6 among 14 facilities' procedures. Streamcell's cage wash check moves through Recorded, Retest due, With manager, Out of service and Closed, and your team sets which readings it records and who hears when a retest is due.
| Form | Statuses |

| Daily room log | Draft → Submitted → Issue raised → Reviewed |
| Cage wash check | Recorded → Retest due → With manager → Out of service → Closed |
| Environmental deviation | Open → With facilities → Back in range → Reviewed → Closed |
| Water quality log | Recorded → Out of range → Corrected → Reviewed |
05Will the logs hold up at an inspection?
Will the logs hold up at an inspection?
Every change to a record stays in its audit trail, so the history is there to show.
Any set of records shows as a table, cards, a board, a calendar, a pivot or a chart, and you can save the views you use, such as open problems or rooms not yet checked today. Export a view when a report needs it. Questions about where the data lives go to the security page.
